Plenary Council 2020

The last Plenary Council held by the Catholic Church in Australia was in 1937- just over 80 years ago. Much has changed! In 2020 we will hold a Plenary Council about the future of the Catholic Church in Australia. All Australians are invited to engage in an open and inclusive process of listening, dialogue and discernment around the question "What is God asking of us in Australia today?"

Pentecost Sunday is the National Launch of the Plenary Council 2020 followed by the formal launch for the Perth Archdiocese at the Vigil Mass on Trinity Sunday. A representative from each parish will receive a special “Plenary Council Candle” to take back to their parish. We will light this candle at our Parish Launch of the Plenary Council 2020 on Sunday 3 June, the Feast of Corpus Christi.
